Shake off the winter blues
Spring is only a few weeks away… but have you got the spring back into your skin?
Here’s what to do to shake off the winter blues and to prep your skin, ready to face the glorious (well I guess that would depend on mother nature’s mood) spring season.
Deep cleansing Facial – This is done with steam and is an absolute must.
By steaming your skin you unclog your pores, helping your skin to breathe more easily, absorb moisturisers better, become brighter and more alive. Simply boil up some water, pour the water into a bowl (being careful not to scold yourself) – let it sit for a few minutes. You can add a few drops of your favourite essential oils if you like – grab a towel and place towel over your head.
The temperature needs to be warm enough to make your skin perspire but not so hot that it’s hard to inhale or hurts your skin.
Steam your skin until it feels good and wet with perspiration, by which time the water should be cooling and no longer producing steam.
Steam away for 5-10 minutes and then wash your face with luke warm water afterwards and close your pores with a splash of cold water – for best results massage a few drops of a magical golden oil into your skin afterwards.
Repeat 1-2 times per week.
